Violife 100% Vegan Cheese Range

Violife has a range of over 30 vegan, award winning, alternatives to cheese products. The full range of vegan cheese products are available on their website.

They are free from dairy, preservatives, lactose, gluten, nuts and soya.

This is great news for fellow low FODMAP’ers as lactose, soya and gluten can all be triggers for our gut.

All the products are based on coconut oil and are fortified with Vitamin B12, which plays an important role in the metabolism of every cell in our bodies.

Their range includes a vegan cream, vegan spread and even a vegan chocolate spread!

I got to try 5 different types of Violife vegan cheese and detail my thoughts below:

Le Rond Camembert Flavour

I had never seen this Camembert flavour before so was really looking forward to trying it.  The recipe I have created below uses this cheese, and I can confirm it’s a real hit! Such a great flavour.

Smoky Cheddar Flavour Slices

These slices have such a great flavour, they really remind of me of dairy smoked cheese! Even the rind/skin around the outside gives it an authentic feel.

Epic Mature Cheddar Flavour – Grated

This grated mature cheese has a great flavour, especially sprinkled on top of a tomato sauce with pasta or melted onto nachos. I love the ease that the pre grated cheese provides and means I can get my dinner that bit quicker.

Epic Mature

I use this block of cheese for everything, sandwiches, snacking, melted on vegetables, on toast – the possibilities are endless.

Original Flavour Slices

These original flavour slices are perfect in burgers – for me they are best on a Beyond Meat burger, with lettuce and ketchup!

Recipe Suggestion:

Baked Camembert with Grilled Peaches

Ingredients

1 Le Rond Camembert Round

2 large peaches halved, pitted

1 tablespoons garlic infused oil

1.5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoons fresh mint finely chopped

Preheat the oven to 200 C. Remove all packaging from the camembert and use a small baking dish.

Place the cheese along with the peaches (cut in half) on a baking tray.

In a small bowl combine the balsamic vinegar, and garlic oil.

Sprinkle the mint over the peaches, drizzle with the vinegar mixture and bake for 5 minutes.

Enjoy with crackers or bread.
