Love Shack: Gluten Free Brunch Review

Love Shack is a cafe based in Bethnal Green (conveniently very near Broadway Market!) and is completely vegan.  It is also completely plastic free!

So on a grey Saturday morning, Alice, Georgia, Ilona and I headed over for brunch. Love Shack has a really quirky vibe but with some cute touches throughout the cafe.

We all said we would go back in the summer, as the outside area looks lovely and would be so nice to chill in the sun there.

There is only one thing on the menu that is ‘officially’ gluten free and I forgot to ask the chef when I was there, if they had gluten free bread – worst food blogger ever!!

Unsurprisingly we all chose the Love Shack dish, which is banana and buckwheat chocolate pancakes, topped with fruit, nut butter and maple syrup. It was divine!! The pancakes taste like chocolate brownies and because they are made with cacao, there are not too sweet.  The maple syrup gives you the sweetness but you can add as little or as much as you want of this.

As Love Shack is 100% vegan, they have a good selection of dairy free milks.  I had an almond milk turmeric latte with my pancakes.  They have an interesting menu of different lattes too, including a mushroom one!

As mentioned earlier in this blog, Love Shack is a 10 minute walk from Broadway Market, meaning you can go and stock up on your favourite gluten free cakes, post brunch, if you have any room left!!
