Paolo’s New Body Barre Studio, Fulham

I got the opportunity to try the new Paolo Body Barre studio in Fulham last week. I had tried Barre once before (but over a year ago), so I knew what I was getting myself into.

The studio is on Fulham High Street, with the nearest tube being Putney Bridge. Next to the studio is Nati’s Wholefood, which does some great smoothies, coffee and healthy snacks.

Walking down the stairs to the studio with the big ‘PBB’ lights on the wall, gives a sharp and trendy feel.

I loved the studio set up, with the living wall at the back, a bench to chill on before the class started and a wardrobe which doubled up as a shop.

I tried two different class in the opening week, Cardio Barre and Glide and Sculpt.

Cardio Barre was a fast paced class. It started with a warm up of squats, jumps and stretches. The class fuses elements of HIIT and functional training. Alongside ballet inspired movements using both the barre and some equipment to intensify the workout.

I was mesmerised by our instructor, her form was amazing. The way she held her body and flexed her feet were perfect!

The second class I went to, Glide and Sculpt, uses sliders and a mat.

It a full body workout and I really struggled after doing the cardio class two days before!!

The class is a combination of cardio and body weight exercises on the gliders adding resistance to push your workout to the another level.

Both classes were really fun and I would definitely recommend, especially if you want to pick up some new techniques for your workouts.
