The Breakfast Club have partnered up with 5 different restaurants to create a limited edition pancake menu for pancake day (or as it’s running for 7 days, pancake week!!). Their pancake day pals are Coq Fighter, Cupcakes and Shhht, Pizza Pilgrims, Bulleit Bourbon and Meringue Girls.
I had visited Cupcakes and Shhht a few weeks ago to try their gluten free freakshake (see blog post here) so was very happy to find out The Breakfast Club would be serving their gluten free pancakes for a week in February (in my home town of Croydon no less!!).
Mr FFL and I ordered some drinks to start, he had a hot chocolate (with marshmallows of course) and I had a fresh lemon and ginger tea.
My main dish was the Cupcakes and Shhht vegan and gluten free blueberry and banana pancake stack. It was the biggest portion of food I think I have had since starting on the low fodmap diet.
The pancakes were topped with fresh bananas and blueberries, cream and blueberry maple compote. The pancakes were sweet and fluffy.
If you are gluten free you need to note that the pancakes should be served with Oatly cream (which contains gluten), so the server suggested I substituted it for standard cream. I can tolerate some dairy, so this was ok for me. My server also gave me some maple syrup to pour on top too!! Winning!!
These limited edition pancakes are at The Breakfast Club from 12th – 18th February 2018. So get down there fast to enjoy!! I hope to get back again before they finish as they were that good!!!
The Breakfast Club, Boxpark Croydon: 8-52, Boxpark Croydon, 99 George St, Croydon CR0 1LD.
Even without the cream I think that would be amazing!
